Redtooth at Q School

PDC Q School 2015 – Day 1
14th January 2015
The Redtooth qualifiers had a tough opening day at Q School in their bid to win PDC Tour Cards.
Brian Lewis and Lee Cusworth were eliminated in the first round both losing by a 5-2 scoreline to Craig Watkins and Richie Corner.
Jack Fuller also missed out in the first round going down to a 5-1 loss against Brandonn Monk.
Michael Power, after a convincing 5-2 win over David Edmunds in the first round, hit ‘double trouble’ when he lost in the second round by the same score to Jon Farmer.
Current Redtooth champion, Ryan Hoggarth won a nail-biting first round match against Jay Foreman when he held his nerve to clinch the deciding leg in a 5-4 win. In the second round he lost 5-2 to an impressive Ben Davies.
Best performance of the day was Mikey Groover who narrowly missed out on a place in the fourth round when he lost the deciding leg against Justin Groton in a 4-5 defeat in round three after an excellent 5-3 win over Dean Barry Stewart in round 2.
Former Redtooth champions Bob Fuller and Paul Amos had mixed fortunes, Bob lost in the fourth round by a margin of 5-1 against Eddie Dootson after victories over Steve Hartley (5-3) in round one, Dan Read (5-4) in round two and Luke Woodhouse (5-2) in round three.
Paul was on top form with a 5-0 win over Kelvin Hart in round two before losing to top Dutch player Mareno Michels by a score of 5-3 in round three.
The overall standard of play was extremely high with former BDO ace Alan ‘Chuck’ Norris registering a nine-dart leg on his way to the last four.
