Northern Regional Darts Final

Riley’s in Wigan was the venue for the Northern Region Final with eight places up for grabs at the National Final in Sheffield on 24th November.
After the group stage we were left with our final eight players who all qualify for the National Final;
Board 1: Simon Bolton (Three Horses, Keighley) won the board with three wins and a leg difference of +4, runner-up was Phil Davison (Golden Lion, Wigan)
Board 2: Tony Baker (Riley’s, Wigan) was the board winner completing three wins and only dropping one leg. Runner-up was decided on leg difference with all three of the other players having chalked up one win Bob Morrisroe (Three Horses, Keighley) with a zero leg difference went through. Craig Orr (Cricketers Arms, Sandbach) who had just enjoyed a week in Las Vegas as one of the Redtooth 100.
Board 3: The winner on this board was Tom Neal (The Pheasant, Batley) with three wins and only one leg dropped, runner-up with two wins was Ian Richards (Robin Hood, Wigan)
Board 4: Josh Walton (Cricketers Arms, Sandbach) ranout the clear winner on board 4 with three wins and only one leg lost, Darren Markwell (Grey Horse, York) finished as runner-up with two wins
All of the Board winners and runners-up won a place at the National Final.
The quarter finals saw Darren win 4-0 against Phil, Ian scored a 4-2 win over Josh, Bob won by the same score against Simon and Tony romped home a 4-1 winner against Tom.
The semi-finals saw Darren gain another 4-0 win, this time at the expense of Ian, whilst Tony continued to impress with a 4-1 over Bob. Bob and Ian both picked up £25 as losing semi-finalists.
In the final Tony whose scoring and finishing had been excellent all day ran out a 5-1 winner over Darren, a worthy runner-up who left with £50 whilst Tony picked up the top prize of £100.
