Northern Regional Final 23rd August 2014

The Northern Regional Final took place at a new venue, Pilkeys in Keighley, with play getting underway promptly at 2.00pm.

Once again the overall standard was extremely good, in the group stages it was notable that first dart finishes secured victory on many occasions.

The semi-finals saw Frank Kirkwood (Three Horses) taking on Kenny Hoult (Wilton) and Ryan Hogarth (Three Horses) against Brian Lewis (Wilton), both games were real battles with Frank sealing a deciding leg victory to win 4-3. In the other match Brian and Ryan fought out an equally tough battle with Brian eventually winning 4-2.

In the final Brian raced into a 4-0 lead, including the highlight of the day, a 160 finish, Frank battled back reducing the deficit to 4-2 before Brian clinched the decisive fifth leg.

All four semi-finalists, along with Kristian Larkin, Billy Carter and Lee Slack are now looking forward to the National Final later in the year.
